What we are
Art is collaborative by nature. A song needs a producer and a mixer. A film needs a cinematographer, a composer, a colorist. A documentary needs researchers, translators, archive rights holders. A photobook needs an editor and a printer. An ezine needs illustrators, writers, and a designer who holds the whole thing together.
Artfork exists so every hand in a creative work (the photographer, the poet, the visual artist, the choreographer, the spoken word performer, the craft maker) is named, credited, and compensated before the work ships, not after.
Solo works and deep collaborations. A photographer publishing a fine art edition. A band releasing a concept album with a commissioned illustrator. A director and a novelist co-authoring a feature. The scope is as wide as the creative act itself.
A finished work can go anywhere its audience is: a stage, an exhibition wall, a festival program, or a platform like Spotify, YouTube, or Bandcamp. Artfork doesn't decide where work lives. It keeps the equity behind it legible and binding everywhere, and routes the revenue automatically whenever the sale happens through Artfork itself.
Events
Beyond individual works, Artfork is a place to host events that gather a community around a shared theme and give projects a footprint in the real world.
Events on Artfork are not decorative. They are structured around the same equity and attribution model as any seed: contributors are credited, rights are clear, and revenue flows through the ledger.
Events also open the door to a wider support ecosystem. Sponsors, Mécènes, curators, and award bodies can attach to an event with a defined role and visibility, without owning the work or overriding the equity structure.
A festival funds a contest but does not own the submissions. A brand sponsors an exhibition but every artist keeps their rights. A curator selects for a series and is credited for their editorial work. The power balance stays with the creators.
Series
An open invitation around a theme or format. A photography series on urban solitude. A spoken word collection built across a city. Contributors submit, the host curates. The series grows issue by issue.
Contest
A brief, a deadline, a jury. Open to all disciplines. Winners receive equity in a published compilation, attribution in the ledger, and visibility with the right audience. Sponsors and award bodies can attach with defined roles.
Exhibition
A curated body of work presented as a whole, online first, physical when the time is right. A label releasing a season of music. A gallery opening with a digital twin. The platform and the room, connected.
ALREADY RUNNING
A photography exhibition marking the bicentennial of the medium, focused on Southeast Asia, is currently in development through Artfork's Event Manager, an open call is live now. Title and framing are still a draft and will likely change before the show is finalized.

When a work takes root as a Trunk, it goes public on The Stage: Artfork's own browsable surface, organised by discipline and Terroir. Not ranked by an algorithm. Browsable by geography, medium, and vitality. A public record of what exists, who made it, and who contributed.
The Workshop
Where collaborations begin.
The Workshop is where open calls live. Seeds whose creators are actively looking for collaborators. Browse by discipline, by branch type, by where the project is based. A film that needs a composer. A photobook that needs a typographer. A music project that needs a translator. The equity split is already proposed before you commit.
Artfork builds deep, discipline-specific tools in the browser. No clunky external software. Design layouts, drag-and-drop film schedules, or upload RAW photography and publish directly.
Each tool is integrated directly into the botanical lifecycle: seeds, drafts, and trunks. Everything you create is linked to your wallet, your collaborators, and your terroir.
Solo artist
The Studio is also a personal production environment.
A filmmaker runs pre-production solo — from script and schedule to call sheets — and opens for grafts only when ready. A photographer manages their archive, rights, and watermarks in one place. A designer lays out a zine entirely in-browser. The equity ledger still applies: 80% yours, 20% Sap.
Collaborative team

Every collaborator joins with a signed equity stake before they contribute a single note, frame, line, or layout. The director of photography, the composer, the translator, the typographer: each holds a signed row in the ledger. When revenue flows, the distribution is automatic and immutable.
Cross-discipline studio tools
Terroir
Every artist and every work carries a Terroir: the place where it was made. Not as metadata, but as identity. A jazz record from Dakar. A photobook from Hanoi. A spoken word collection from Marseille.
Terroir makes geography discoverable. Browse by city, by region, by country. Find who is making work near you, and what scenes are forming in places you have never been.
Local scenes are where most creative work actually begins. A collective in a shared studio. A film crew that keeps finding each other on the same block. A city with a sound that has not been named yet.
Artfork surfaces these proximities. Search for open collaborations in your area, find events happening in your discipline locally, and build a network that starts online but lands somewhere real.
Three commitments
Every branch carries a signed equity split before it activates. No collaboration without attribution. The ledger is immutable once every party signs. No renegotiation path, on-platform or off.
Wherever a work is shown or sold, physical or digital, the signed equity split stays attached to it. Artfork routes the revenue automatically for anything sold through its own marketplace, events, or platform embeds.
Work that risks removal or demonetization on mainstream platforms has a home here. Artfork does not replicate other platforms' censorship decisions.
The Sap
The Sap is Artfork's fixed platform fee: 20% of every revenue distribution. It is non-negotiable, always visible in the equity ledger, and paid to the same account on every project.
The remaining 80% belongs to the artists. For collaborations, that 80% is split exactly as signed, before a single asset is uploaded.

Who it's for
You make consistently but your audience is people who already know you. The grafting system lets others extend your work, bring their own followers, and carry your name into rooms you have not entered. Every extension is credited back to you in the ledger. Reach through authorship, not algorithms.
